Edwin Royce Weeks

Edwin Royce Weeks, age 88, passed away on Thursday, December 14th at UNC Lenoir Hospital in Kinston. Born in Whitikers, NC, he was the son of the late Walter Dana Weeks and Emma Crawley Weeks and husband of the late Virginia Price Weeks. Edwin was a member of the Falling Creek Baptist Church and was retired from the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Military Police. After retirement he was employed with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

A service to celebrate Edwin’s life will be held on Monday, December 18th at 2:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery with military honors. The family will greet friends Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his son and daughter in law, Walter and Julia Weeks.

Mr. Weeks is survived by his children, Walter Ashley Weeks and wife, Julia P. Weeks and Tanya Weeks; three grandchildren, Walter Weeks, Jr. and wife, Erica, Harvey J. Pearce, and Kaitlyn E. Weeks and fiancée, Jonathon Whaley; and a great grandchild, Autumn Raine Weeks.
