Edna Bernise (Denning) Swiger

Edna Bernise Denning Swiger, 79, passed away Thursday evening at Rex UNC Hospital in Raleigh. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late William Clarence Denning and Valera Mae Westbrook Denning and sister of the late Dennis Denning, Viola Gilbert, Janice Denning and Rochelle Denning. She was a member of Jordans Chapel Baptist Church. 

A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday at 2:00pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Smeltzer and Pastor Frank Sandy officiating.  The family will have a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Jordans Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bernise is survived by her husband, Bobby Swiger; a son, Robert Kirk Swiger; daughters, Jennifer Denise Berry, Lisa Mae Swiger, and Tina Marie Swiger; her brothers, Layton Denning, Ellis Rose Denning, Duke Denning, and Jesse Monk Denning; a sister, Betty Lou Salmon; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
