Dwight Ervin Lancaster, 67, of Pikeville passed away Tuesday at UNC Health Johnston. Born in Wayne County, he is the son of the late Ervin Daniel and Mildred May Bouge Lancaster. He was the owner and operator of Lancaster Trucking Company. Dwight enjoyed trail riding on his horses, working in his shop, fishing, and attending auctions. He was a very generous and giving man.
A service to celebrate Dwight’s life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Pikeville Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, May 17, 2024.
Dwight is survived by his nieces and nephew, Cindy K. Kornegay and husband, Robbie, Judy Sullivan and husband, Scott, and Lance Kornegay and wife, Jessica; great nieces and nephews, Chance Sullivan, Kayta Sullivan, Jaden Sullivan, Skylar Barnes, Tyler Barnes, Kelsey Kornegay, Caleb Kornegay, McKala Hardee, Ashton Kornegay, and Landon Kornegay; a great great nephew, Colton Hardee; his dogs, Rowdy, Emma, Jethro; and several special friends.
In addition to his parents, Dwight is preceded in death by his sister, Donna Kornegay and husband, Linwood; brothers, Frankie Lancaster and William “Billy” Ervin Lancaster; and his dog, 2 B.
