Diane Marie (Hickman) Smith

Diane Hickman Smith, 77, of Pikeville passed away on Thursday at Wayne UNC Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Sidney Morris and Sally M. Hickman; and she was the widow of James Edward Smith. She was a CNA for Home Health and Hospice. She enjoyed crocheting hats and blankets for the patients at Southeastern Medical Oncology.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Dudley Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. and at other times the residence.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn Best and fiancé Scotty Hales of Pikeville, Kenny Smith of Fremont, Bobby Smith and wife, Dora of Goldsboro; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister in law, Linda Bartlett and husband, Josh of Goldsboro.
