Debra "Debbie" (Pierce) Smith

Debra “Debbie” Pierce Smith, age 66, passed away Saturday morning at Wayne/UNC Health Care. Born in Kinston, NC, she was the daughter the late Ada Willadean Browder Hanway and Darrel Hanway.

The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro, NC.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Pierce & significant other, Jason Medeiros and Keri Smith & significant other, Daniel Brannon; sons, Charlie Smith & wife, Laurie and Darrel Smith;  brother, Darrel Hanway; sisters, Shelley Fields and Barbara Pierce;  grandchildren, Gabrial Smith, McKinsey Howell, Jacob Howell, Juliana Ham, Vivian Medeiros, Meredith Mederios and Kierstin Brannon and  great grandchildren, Jayce Knudson and Paisleigh Howell.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Pierce; sister, Sandra Hanway; one grandchild, James Curtis Howell and one great grandchild, Jacob Jermaine Howell.

Her family suggest, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
