Deborah Marie (Gregory) Herring

Deborah Marie Gregory Herring, age 67, passed away February 4, 2025 at UNC-Wayne Healthcare in Goldsboro.   Born in Cumberland County  to the late John Nathan Gregory and Laura Mae Casey Gregory.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Sherrill Herring; Siblings,  Nathan Gregory, Charles Gregory, Maurice Gregory, Betty Rigsbee, Frances Coker and Jane Gregory; Grandson, Christopher Hunter Bennett; step son, Jeffrey Herring.

Deborah is survived by her Children – Cornelius Wayne Smith, Chadwick Bryan Smith, Jennifer Horne Brown & husband, Troy; brothers, William Gregory & wife, Hilda, John Gregory & wife, Rose,  Paul Gregory and Terry Gregory; sisters, Peggy Daniels & husband, Roy, Hilda Hodnett, Patsy Hanegan, Janice Sessoms; grandchildren, Aaron Denning, Jared Smith, Tronyae Smith, MaKenzie Smith, Destiny Mitchell, Nicholas Bennett; great grandchild, Kenley Boyle; significant other, William Michael Herring; fur babies, “Block” & “Roscoe”; step son, Steven Herring; special friends Laura Napier and Kiara Rawls.

A graveside will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Davis Family Cemetery on McClain Street in Goldsboro with Rev. Jeff Toler officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
