Deborah Ann Butler Abel, age 74, passed away early Thursday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Linwood Steve Butler and Elizabeth Jenkins Butler. Debbie was the wife of the late Kenneth Abel. A retired hairdresser with Legends Hair Designs in Goldsboro, she was also a bus driver with Wayne County Public Schools.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Hood & companion, Lu Anne Summerlin; her daughters, Michelle Blanchard and Cindy Jo Lewis & husband, Joshua; her sister, Cindy Eastmond & husband, Howard; her grandchildren, Ashley, Johnathan, Brittany, Cort, Matthew and Krystie; great grandchildren, Landon, Mason, Declan, Cillian and Abram.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 27, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating.
Along with her parents and husband, Debbie was preceded in death by two brothers.
