David Wilder Obituary

David Reid Wilder, age 83, died April 17, 2019 at the VA Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Durham. Born in Raleigh, he was the son of the late David Burton Wilder, Jr. and Marvel Spivey Wilder and was the husband of the late Gloria M. Wilder. David was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, a former member of the Golden “K” Kiwanis, the Wayne County Historical Association and the former executive assistant to the Wayne County Historical Association. He graduated from N.C. State University and received his Master of Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

A celebration of his life will be held at a time to be announced at the Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton, NC.

David is survived by his three children, D. Scott Wilder, Cynthia N. Drew and Allison W. Keith; two brothers, Richard Wilder and Marc Wilder; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
