David Earl Gautier

David Earl Gautier, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at his residence. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Jasper Gautier, Jr. and Zella Mae Williams Gautier.

A service to celebrate the life of David will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Wayne Ezzell officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Friends Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

David is survived by his wife Velma Whaley Gautier; two sons, Eddie Glenn Gautier and James Allen Gautier; two sisters, Linda Edwards and Ceresa Saylor; his in-laws, Mike and Nancy Whaley and Annette and J.W. Sullivan; and a granddaughter, Evelyn Faith Gautier.

A special "Thank You" to Gentiva Hospice and Courtney and Kaitlyn who poured their love and care into keeping him comfortable and a special friend, Faye Outlaw, who always kept a check on him.
