Danny Allen Worrell

Danny Allen Worrell, age 75, passed away on Sunday evening at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Gordon Wilbert Worrell and Geneva Frances Hare Worrell. He retired from NC Department of Transportation after 34 years and was a Veteran of the US Army. 

A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday at 12:00 noon at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Danny is survived by his daughter, Marcie Worrell (Jeff) Davis; a sister, Phyllis Worrell (Chris) Drum; a half-sister, Cheri Asbury; two grandchildren, Bradley (Ashley) Davis and Chad Davis; a great grandchild, Aubrey Davis; a niece, Courtney Grant; a special friend, Kathy Malcolm and a special canine companion, “Bullet”.
