Daniel A. Phelps

Daniel was the victim of a hit and run accident while riding his bike. Daniel was a quiet man, but with an infectious smile. If a friend called and in need, he would drop all and go to help them. He was truly that guy that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He will be missed by a great many.

Daniel enjoyed taking discarded or broken items and repairing or repurposing them. He formally worked at Food Lion in Mar Mac and Good Ole Boys Concrete where he made a number of great friends.

A service to celebrate Daniel’s life will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 2:00pm in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Mr. Rudy Peedin officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his parents.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Gerry, Jr, and Christina B. Phelps; brothers, Gerry Phelps, III, Matthew Phelps and Thomas Phelps and his fiancée, Riley Jernigan; grandparents, Jeanne Phelps, Elfriede and Jerry Smiling; nephew, Ryker Phelps; aunts Lisa Phelps and Michelle Fulk; uncle, Richard Deaver; cousins, Treasure Linton and Cassie Preskitt and husband Kanin.

Daniel was preceded in death by his sister, Christina Marie Phelps and grandfather, Gerry Phelps, Sr.
