Christine (Sawyer) Hopkins

Christine Sawyer Hopkins, age 81, passed away Thursday at Genesis Health Care in Mount Olive. Born in Tyrell County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Grealy Sawyer and Florence Reynolds Sawyer, wife of the late Larry L. Hopkins and sister of the late Clyde Litchfield.  She was a member of Love Memorial Baptist Church, a former teachers assistant and a member of the N.C. Association of Teacher Assistants.

A graveside service for close family and friends will be held  Saturday at 2:00 pm at Wayne Memorial Park.

She is survived by two children, Larry Curtis Hopkins and wife, Melanie; Lynn Hopkins Wise and husband, Elton Red Wise; three grandchildren, Derek, Chase and Amber; and four great grandchildren.
