Chester Orvel Willits

Chester Orvel Willits, age 94, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, NC. Born in Newton County, IN, he was the son of the late Ralph Warren and Gladys Marie Willits and the husband of the late Doris Willits. Chester was a Veteran of the United States Army, earning the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Korea Korean War Service Medal and the Marksman Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar.

No formal services will be held at this time.

He is survived by his children, Ricky Harvert, Nina Brown, Clinton Willits, Renee Harvert, Cherrie Fausnaught, Susan Harman and Teresa Bullock; his siblings, Berniece Gannan, Sherwin Willits and Phyllis Stinecipher; 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife, Chester was preceded in death by his daughter, Penny Kuklis; his siblings, Unice Taylor, Lavern Willits, Doris Bolinger, Richard Willits, Freeman Willits, Neiven Willits, Calvin Willits, Hazel Porter, Dexter Willits and Perry Willits.
