Carolyn McLawhorn Aycock, age 82, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 8th at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher Ward McLawhorn and Edna Pearsall McLawhorn and the sister of the late Franklin “Bud” McLawhorn. Carolyn graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1961 and worked as the executive secretary at Cherry Hospital for many years. She was a member of Providence Church.
A service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. David Pate officiating on Monday, April 14th at 2:00pm. The family will remain at the cemetery to greet friends immediately following the graveside service.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, George Aycock; daughter, Melynda Snead and her fiancée, Mike Metts; daughter, Tammy Aycock; grandchildren, Jennifer Warrick Davis, Blaine Snead and wife, Debra, and Megan Snead; and her great grandchildren, Jensen Davis, Kasen Snead and Hayden Roberts.
