Carl Haywood Andrews, Jr. Obituary

Carl Haywood Andrews, Jr., 75, of Dudley passed away Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He was the son of the late Carl Haywood Andrews Sr. and Reba Doris Jones Andrews and husband of the late, Marie Wallace Andrews. He had a great faith in God and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church. He loved singing in the choir wherever he attended church. Haywood enjoyed sports, especially the North Carolina State Wolfpack and the Washington Redskins. He also enjoyed western tv shows, cars, fishing, playing the piano, hunting, golf, and working with his hands. He was a graduate of the Goldsboro High School class of 1967. Haywood was a general contractor, and the owner of Andrews’ Builders Inc. Haywood suffered a stroke over 20 years ago, but you can’t keep a good man down. He was hardheaded and a man of few words, but you knew what he was thinking.

A service to celebrate Haywood’s life will be held at a later date.

Haywood is survived by his children, Steve Andrews of Arkansas, and John Paul Andrews (Alli) of Leesburg, VA, Sara Paim (Jonathan) of Goldsboro; step children, Karen Wallace of North Carolina and Lee Harris (Angela) of Virginia; sisters, Elaine Andrews of Pikeville and Barbara Brewer of Harrisburg; an aunt, Lakey Jones of Roseville; grandchildren, Benjamin Kincaid, Aliza Paim, Jordyn Andrews, Baylee Andrews, CJ Andrews, Jacob Harris, Sophia Harris, and TJ Wallace; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Southeastern Medical Oncology and Kitty Askins for their love and care for Haywood.
