Brenda Newsome, 75, of Rocky Mount passed away Saturday at U.N.C. Hospital in Chapel Hill. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth Green, and was married to the late Donald Ray Newsome. Brenda enjoyed shopping, music, traveling, but most of all time with her family and her dog, Jax. Brenda could light up a room whenever she entered it.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday at 3:00 P.M. at the graveside in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M.
Brenda is survived by a daughter, Tori Neville and husband, Charles “Chip” of Rocky Mount; a son, Chad Linden of Slidell, LA; sisters, Joy Newsome and husband, Henry of Smithfield, Denise Lorenzo and husband, Tony of Miami, FL, and Joan Matthews of Rocky Mount; a brother, Dan Green and wife, Sherri of Anna, TX; grandchildren, Jason Davis, Shelby Lomax, Camryn Linden, and Logan Neville; and a great grandchild, Jordan Davis.
In addition to her husband, a daughter, Rhonda Linden and a son, Weldon Linden III preceded her in death.
