Billy Parker Holland, age 85, passed away Thursday evening at his residence. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Jethro Samuel Holland and Alma Parker Holland and husband of the late Hazel Nichols Holland. Billy was a retired salesman with Star Foods and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Nahunta High School and was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, American Legion and the Woodman of the World.
A service to celebrate Billy’s life will be held Saturday at 7:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The family will greet friends Saturday evening immediately following the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be Monday at 12 noon at the Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Billy is survived by his sons, Ronnie S. Holland and wife, Wanda N. Holland, Billy N. Holland and wife, Belinda Holland; three grandchildren, Rhonda M. Holland, Nick Holland and his significant other, Skylar McCarty, Josh Holland and wife, Heather; two great grandchildren, Mason and Kohen Holland; a brother, Nathan Holland; a sister, Goldie Jones; sister in law, Ruby Perkins; special friend, Betty Johnson; and a special caregiver, Ire Darden.
