Betty Juanita Brock Gregory, 89, passed away early Thursday morning, September 28 at Goldsboro Assisted Living. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth Gainey Brock and wife of the late Sam McCullen and the late George Gregory. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Outlaw, a brother, Winfred Brock, a sister, Wilhelmina Best, one grandchild, Dewayne Thompson and one great grandchild, Katlyn Kimbrough. She was the former owner and operator of the Sunshine Rest Home and was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, October 1 at 2:00 pm by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor Bill Rose officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday at the grave following the service.
Mrs. Gregory is survived by her children, Gary McCullen, Linwood and Nancy McCullen, Sammy McCullen and his fiancée, Phyllis, Laverne and Jody Thompson, Betty and Bernice Lane, and Billie Jo McCullen and fiancée, Bob; her son in law, Rex Outlaw; a sister, JoAnn Blackmon; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
