Arthur Clarence West Jr., 84, “Cigar Man” of Dudley passed away Wednesday evening at Wayne UNC Hospital. He is the son of the late Eva Jones West and the husband of Carol B. West. A.C. loved to run his dogs, hunt and fish. He was a member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, a member of Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the American Legion. Every where that Carol went AC was right there. He enjoyed getting out and going for a ride in the car with her. He loved eating breakfast at Burger King, and taking others out to eat as well.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Valerie Hardison officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
In addition to his wife, Mr. West is survived by his daughters, Tracy Buchanan and husband, Armon of Columbus, GA and Lorrie Lynn Weaver of Lubbock, TX; a brother, Glenn West and wife, Donna of Louisburg; and two grandsons, Brent Pate and Terry Weaver; and a granddaughter, Rachel Weaver.
In addition to his mother, Mr. West is preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Wadsworth Pate; and four sisters, Louise West, Marie Barnette, Blanche Pope, and Linda Smith.
