Amy Carol (Thornton) Jomp

Amy Carol Thornton Jomp, age 50, passed away Monday at Duke University Hospital. Born in Sampson County, she is the daughter of Audrey Jackson Thornton and the late Carol Everette Thornton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kirk Douglas Jomp.

A service to celebrate Amy’s life will be held Friday at 1:00pm by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor Tony Kopansky officiating.  The family will remain at the graveside to greet with family and friends.

In addition to her mother, Amy is survived by her son, Bryan Douglas Jomp; her sisters, Kimberly Thornton Tumbaga and Pam Thornton Strickland; a niece, Sara Courtney Strickland, and a nephew, Nathan Zachary Strickland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be directed to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
