Alvin “Harold” Walker, age 79, passed away early Thursday morning at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Wayne County, NC, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Josephine Jones Walker. A Veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a self-employed dry wall installer. Harold enjoyed playing softball, pool and golf. He also liked going to the game room and playing BINGO.
A Graveside Service, with military honors, to celebrate Harold’s life will be held Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Elwood Cemetery in Fremont with Rev. Ronnie Heath officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the home of Stacy and Russ Whittington, 407 Johnson Branch Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Fail Walker; his children, Regina Jones (Clay), Jason Walker and Sonya Johnson; grandchildren, Lauren Falls (Josh), Lindsay Stallard, Paytyn Jones and Landon Jones; great grandchild, Chandler Falls; siblings, Eugene Walker (Carolyn), Bill Walker (Judy), Sandra Grady (Gary) and Audrey Barnes (Randolph); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Brantley Walker.
