Alton Brent Powell

Alton Brent Powell, 67, of Goldsboro, passed away on Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He is the son of Rachel Lambert Powell and the late Alton Powell, and was married to the late Wanda Jenkins Powell. Mr. Powell worked in maintenance for Goshen Medical. He enjoyed watching Carolina Basketball or NASCAR on television, hunting, woodworking or spending time with his grandchildren.  He was also a member of the Son’s of Confederate Veteran’s.

A celebration of life will be held in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Committal services will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 A.M.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Powell is survived by his son, Timothy Brent Powell (Nikki Newlin); daughter, Kasey Powell Ezzell (Kyle); sisters, Ann Worley, Faye Best, and Jean Evans; and two grandchildren, Molly Grace Ezzell and Klint Ezzell.

In addition to his wife, a daughter, Brittany Lee Powell preceded him in death.
