Alec Christopher Grant

Alec Christopher Grant, age 36, died Monday.  Born in Wayne Co., he was the son of Marvin D. and  Edith Faye Eastman Grant.   

He graduated from Wayne Community College's Welding Technology program in 2010. 

He was a great son, brother, uncle, father, and friend.  He cherished his family, especially his daughters and niece. He loved making people laugh and always tried to make everyone happy.  He would often give his last few dollars to strangers in need and would volunteer to help the homeless, even when he had nothing. 

A Graveside service will be held will be held Monday, May 11, at 3:00 pm at the Hosea Simmons Cemetery in Whiteville, NC.  The family will visit with family and friends from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his daughters, MaKenna and Avery Grant;  his sisters, Heather Michelle Harris and Taylor Crisp; his niece, Zoe Royal.

Memorial donations can be made to Shumate-Faulk in lieu of flowers.
