William "Bill" Perry

William “Bill” Douglas Perry, age 68, died Tuesday evening at Vidant Medical Center in Kenansville, NC.  Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Arthur Cleveland Perry and the late Margaret Hazel Moore Perry. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Wayne Perry and a sister, Donna Faye Smith. Bill was retired as a Correctional Lieutenant with the North Carolina Department of Corrections and was the longtime manager of Lenoir Auto Parts.

A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held Friday at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Perry is survived by his wife, Debra Perry; a brother and sister in law, John Allen and Carolyn Perry; a sister, Maye Ellen Murat; a sister in law, Paulette Nicholas and her husband, Brent; a nephew, Brian Perry and wife, Jessica; and nieces, Hazel Williams, Kim Hawley and Christy Hicks..
