Wanda Lou (Jenkins) Powell

Wanda Jenkins Powell, 61, of the Grantham community passed away on Thursday afternoon at her residence. She is the daughter of  the late Dalton Lee and Lillie Thigpen Jenkins, and is the wife of Alton Brent Powell. Wanda was an angel to her family and friends, and loved to support the Ronald McDonald House. Mrs. Powell had been employed with Sentry Insurance Company as a Claims Technician.

A service of love and remembrance will be held Monday in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Committal services will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.

In addition to her husband, Brent, Wanda is survived by a son, Timothy Brent Powell of Goldsboro; a daughter, Kasey Powell Ezzell and husband, Kyle of Goldsboro; a brother, Nelson Jenkins and wife, Shelia of Snow Hill; two sisters, Lyvonne Davis and husband, Mickey of Dudley and Renee Coty of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren, Molly Grace Ezzell and Klint Ezzell.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by a daughter, Brittney Powell.
