Virginia Lee (Bryan) Sullivan

Virginia Bryan Sullivan, age 96, passed away Tuesday afternoon at her residence. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Lisker Allen Bryan and Maude Bryan Rose and wife of the late John Lawrence Sullivan. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gerald Sullivan, a son in law, Jerry Reaves and her siblings, Carroll Bryan, Marie Brown, and Edna Earle Grantham. Virginia was a member of Rhodes Friends Meeting for over 60 years where she was active in the Women’s Missionary Society and she was a member of Woodmen of the World.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at the Rhodes Friends Meeting. The family will greet friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her son, Wayne (Mary) Sullivan; her daughters, Karen Reaves, Rita (Billy) Long and Jeanette (Tom) Bonthuis; a special daughter, Donna Westbrook; a sister, Maxine Lipscomb; her grandchildren, Sean Sullivan, Kelli Edwards, DeAnne Purvis, Carlton “Junior” Sullivan, Keith Sullivan, Greg Sullivan, Brad Reaves, Stephen Reaves, Kyle Stuart, Nikki Thornton, Meredith Holmes, Morgan  Richards and Madison Davis; her step grandchildren, Peggy Sollars, Tracy Rojas, Kimberly Pope, Hope Hill, Mandy Bill, Brendan Bonthuis, Emily Hapner, Rachael Steenwyk and Sarah Bonthuis; forty five great grandchildren and nineteen great great grandchildren; and her beloved dachshund, “Fuji”.
