Tammy Jo Hood, age 59, died Thursday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born in Charlottesville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Dillon Morris and June Evelyn Bibb Hood. For over 30 years of her nursing career, she cared for patients at many locations including Cherry Hospital, Liberty Commons in Benson, Kenansville Health & Rehabilitation, the Brian Center, and 3HC-Home, Health & Hospice.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Price officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 11:00 am, at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Abby & John O’Reilly of Mt. Olive; her brother, Stephen Harlow; several Aunts, Uncles & Cousins; Special Extended Family, Latisha Joyner & children, Malik, Beauti, Paxton and Dinero; Judy Ashford, William Dobson, III & Family, LaShonia Dobson & Family, Eric Dobson & Family, Quientin Dobson & Family and Mary, with whom she had a special sisterly bond, & family; as well as so many others who loved her.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, for the love and care they provided to Tammy and her family, 107 Handley Park Ct., Goldsboro, NC 27534.
