Tammy Jo Barber, 55, of Goldsboro, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 26th at her home.
On June 3, 1964, the eldest of three sisters was born to the late James R. and Irene Ballree Barber. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Emmett W. and Shirley Ballree, and her paternal grandparents, Earl and Myrtle Hamilton and her sister Trina B. Conley
.A graduate from Goldsboro High School, Tammy became a mother in 1988 to her son Bill Travis, the second of his name. Her relationship with her grandson Caleb Travis was one that was of utmost importance to her, and she cherished every moment spent with him.
A service to celebrate Tammy’s life will be held Tuesday July 2, 2019 at Brogden United Methodist church at 6 with the pastor Andy Stovall officiating. Family members will greet friends at the church immediately following the service and at other times at the home of her sister, Jaime and Ben Gibson.
Tammy is survived by her beloved son, Bill Travis, grandson Caleb Travis of Goldsboro, sister Jaime Gibson and her husband Ben of Goldsboro, and special family friend Bill Travis Sr.; her maternal grandmother, Irene Mcdaniel of Chesapeake Beach, MD, her nephew and nieces, Tenna Conley, Rayce and Rileigh Gibson; and numerous aunts and uncles.
