Rodolph “Doc” Taylor, 79, of the Grantham community died Friday evening. He was the son of the late Jesse and Vertie Desmond Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a truck driver by trade, and loved to go fishing, ride boats, and play pool. “Heaven Bound Hammer Down” He is going to be with his best friend and soulmate, Linda Burtchell, who has been waiting for him to hit the highway to heaven.
The family will have a time of gathering for friends at a later date.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his children, Ann Taylor and boyfriend, Lester Henson of Manson, Norma Jean Taylor of Durham, Jesse Taylor and girlfriend, Kayla Sieprawski of Goldsboro, and Linda Taylor of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Nathan, Kaiden, Joseph, Walter Allen, David Allen and wife, Jennifer, Jimmy Allen and girlfriend , Jacole, Leslie Ruffule and husband, Albert, and Lorrie Roberts; great grandchildren, Carissa Gilbert and husband, Justin, Mykayla Mathis and husband James, Nico Ruffule, Gino Ruffule, Leah Allen, Cameron Allen, Cody Allen, Cheyanne Allen; great great grandchildren, Logan and Amber Gilbert and Jacob and Jack Mathis; and a sister, Nannie Ruth Potter.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Young.
