Patsy Ramona (Willis) Cathey

Patsy Willis Cathey, age 85, passed away early Tuesday at Helping Hands in Goldsboro. Born in Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Wilson Willis and Annie Susan Powell Cox and wife of the late Gene William Cathey. Patsy was a member of Faith Christian Church in Burlington. She was very active in Burlington with the Loaves and Fishes Christian Food Ministries and a volunteer at the Cancer Center. She was the former librarian with the Burlington Times News and was an avid sports fan, especially the Carolina Tarheels.

Patsy is survived by her daughters, Karen Cottle Mangum and husband, Bruce, Blair Stocker and husband, Peter; sons, Tony Cathey and wife, Myra, Michael Cathey; grandchildren, Tracey Smith and husband, Brian, Jessica Pope and husband, Jourdon, Jenna Bengal and husband, Geoff, Blake Cathey and fiancée, Hollie Martin, Emma Stocker and Ian Stocker; great grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Jaymeson, Stella, Aiden; special niece, Sabrina Kimery.

A service to celebrate Patsy’s life will be held Friday at 7:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. E. Reid Dickens officiating. Family members will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at Graham Memorial Park in Graham, NC.
