Myrtle Williams Obituary

Willie Myrtle Whitman Williams, age 75, died Wednesday at Kenansville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Wayne County, NC to the late Jim Jeffrey and Pennie Bell Weeks Whitman and was married to the late James Ezra Williams. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Friday evening at 5:00pm in the Shumate Memorial Chapel at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service.

She is survived by a son, Richard Williams; a daughter, Mary Ann Menley; a daughter-in-law, Danita Williams; a brother, Jessie Whitman; four sisters, Ernestine Best, Mary Louise Holmes, Penny Ann Smith and Virginia Creech; a brother-in-law, Ronnie Williams; seven grandchildren, Trisha Furin, Rex Jr. Williams, Chellie Williams, Austin Williams, Gary Williams, Victoria Caceres-Williams and Jessica Careres; six great-grandchildren, Nathan Rackley, James Caceres-Williams, Elle Olvera, Edwin Caceres-Williams, Jasmin Caceres-Williams and David Furin; and one great-great-grandson, Mariano Caceres.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Rex Allen Williams and George Allen Williams; three brothers, James Whitman, Hubert Whitman and Jessie Ray Whitman; and one sister, Betty Jean Whitman.
