Larry Anthony Hobbs

Larry Anthony Hobbs, age 67, of 1531 Lancaster Road, died Monday at his home.  Born in Lenior County, he was the son of the late Eula Mae Davis and raised by the late Raymond Fuller Nichols and Carrie Lee Nichols.  A veteran of the United States Navy, he was retired from the N.C. Department of Corrections.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening  following the funeral service.  Committal services will be Friday at 10:00 AM in Wayne Memorial Park.

 Mr. Hobbs is survived by his wife, Shelby Mitchell Hobbs; son & daughter-in-law, William Anthony Hobbs (Maranda); brothers & sisters-in-law, Charles Davis (Jane), Orville Davis, Roger Davis (Annette), Ronnie Vernon (Tracy); grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Bates (Walter), Jessica Nicole Warren (Danny), Jamie Leigh Hobbs (fiancé-Eric Holland), Katie Nicole Roberts and Taylor Roberts; great grandchildren, Lanie, Harley, Annalee, Laura, Elijah and Jeremiah.

 Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Fuller Hobbs; sister, Hope Davis; brother, & sister-in-law, Donald Lee (Karen); great granddaughter, Haley Nicole.
