James Sneed Obituary

MSG (Ret) James David “Sam” Sneed, age 81, of Goldsboro, died Thursday, January 31, 2019 in Goldsboro. Born in Rector, AR, he was the son of the late Arthur and Leona Castleman Sneed. He was a 26 year veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Army Security Agency in National Intelligence.

Mr. Sneed is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karen E. Sneed; sons & daughters-in-law, James Glen Sneed (Elaine), Nathan Alden Wheeler (Leah), Garrett Ray Sneed (Vendy), Austin Walker Sneed (Lauren) and Cameron Marshall Sneed; two brothers, Thomas Arthur Sneed and Charles Glen Sneed; grandchildren, Alaina, Lily, Gavin, Alden & Carly; special father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray & Sue Fowler.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Arthur Sneed and one brother, Joel Wayne Sneed.

Burial will be held at a later date at Quantico National Cemetery.
