Foy Glenn Edgerton, 85, passed away Tuesday at Wayne U.N.C. Hospital. He was the son of the late Glenn and Thelma Rose Edgerton, and was married to the late Helen Pope Edgerton. He was a retired Chief Master Sgt. of 30 years with the United States Air Force as well as a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, the Optimist Club, and a Mason.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Committal services will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. Edgerton is survived by his wife, Ruth of Goldsboro; a son, Curtis Edgerton of Castalia, a step daughter, Gail Charles of Goldsboro; brothers, Bill Edgerton of Goldsboro and Mike Edgerton of Dallas, TX; sisters, Nina Edgerton Leaming, Richmond, VA and Linda Pittman of Columbia, SC; step grandchildren, Stephen Charles, Melissa McAllister, and Christina Langley; step great grandchildren, Braden McAllister, David Langely, and Katelyn McAllister, and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Keith Edgerton and his brother, Robert Edgerton.
