The Mayor of Dobbersville, Elton Wayne “Wirehead” Bryan, age 62, passed away Wednesday at his residence. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late John Milton Bryan and Pauline Skinner Capps Bryan and brother of the late John Paul Bryan. “Wirehead” was a well-known farmer in the Dobbersville Community and although he had no children, he was a father figure to many.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held Friday at 3:00 pm at the Capps Family Cemetery in Grantham with Rev. Patrick Muston officiating. The family will greet friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
He is survived by his lifelong companion, Tina Blue Britt; a sister, Cynthia Bryan Bethea; Zachary Pennington, who he thought of as his son; nieces and nephews, Doug & Jennifer Bethea, John & Courtney Bethea, William Paul Bryan and Melissa Rose Bryan; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
