Dexton Mozingo Obituary

Daniel Dexton Mozingo, age 88, died Tuesday evening at Willow Creek surrounded by his friends and family. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late, Daniel W. & Effie Hazel Toler Mozingo. Dexton grew up in the Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church and more recently, Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was a dedicated and loyal member.

He was employed by the Goldsboro City Police Department where he served the community for five years. He then worked 24 years as the fleet supervisor for Franklin Baking Company. He went on to own and operate the Gulf Service Station on Ash Street, and finished his working career retiring with Service Corporation after fifteen years. In his retirement he enjoyed lawn maintenance and was also a dedicated and loved employee with Shumate Faulk Funeral Home. He will be remembered as a loyal and dedicated member of the Goldsboro Community.

A service to celebrate the life of Dexton will be held Saturday at 2:00pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Berry House officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. Family members will greet friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Dexton is survived by his wife, Shelby Caison Mozingo; his sons, Drue Mozingo and wife Sonya, Stan Mozingo and Angie Mozingo; his grandchildren, Kayla Pounds and husband Jonathan, Seth Mozingo, and Tanner Mozingo; and a great grandchild, Ava Gray Pounds.
