Annette Lee Carter, age 71, passed away Tuesday at UNC Rex Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Earl Lee and Alma Johnson Lee. She was a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate Annette’s life will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Varnell officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will gather to greet friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Annette is survived by her husband, Jerry Allen “Shotgun” Carter; a son, Jerry Wayne Carter and wife, Claudine Kitchen Carter; daughters, Vicky Carter Helm and husband, Douglas, Terry Carter Jackson and husband, Dr. Kenneth Jackson, Debbie Carter Howell and husband, Tommy, Loretta Carter James, and Kimberly Carter McCarthy and husband, Dan; sisters, Eva Elaine Lee and Maxine Carol Person and husband, Jack; twenty one grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.
