Everyone was very helpful, compassionate, and professional. Mr Faulk was very accommodating and made sure that the service was carried out just as we planned. Shumate-Faulk has served my family numerous times and I would recommend them to anyone who has to make final arrangements for a loved one. Thank you for all that you do.

I had a very professional experience with shumate Faulk. Suzanne was personable and took her cue when to have a sense of humor and that was very helpful. They did have an issue with their sound system and they went right out and bought another one and I would trust them again. Also Pastor Willoughby did a great job and my dad really looked good. When Death Occurs Away From Home

What should I do if a loved one dies away from home?

Perhaps your loved one lived hundreds of miles away, or dies while traveling. If you want the funeral service and burial to be held in your loved one’s home community, contact Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home immediately, as soon as you learn of the death (1-919-734-5441).

Family members should not personally contact a funeral home in the area where the death occurred. Doing so may incur greater expense for your family, and could complicate matters as well. Our funeral directors are experienced in collaborating with out-of-town funeral homes. We can handle the details to get your loved one returned home in the most efficient and cost-effective way. This may seem to go against common reasoning, but it is actually the easiest and most economical alternative.
